flying robo

so i wanted to try out this different approach with cleaning the linework after checking out mr.jacks wicked starcraft fan art.
man..I find it soo hard to stick to the original concept when cleaning up the lines.. and cleaning up the lines.
also i kept finding errors in the linework after i started shading it, which made the process of having a line layer multiplied on top mega annoying.
I do think it was good exercise, but I feel a little bit meh about the final product considering the amount of time spend on it :s
might put the process thing togther later.
sorry for the wall of text hope you like some robot!

Since I have nothing new and also no scanner, here is something I posted to naked&angry ages ago. I hope there's no rules against posting stuff like that.

Bird Warrior

Many of the early Thalonistrian tribes eschewed heavy armour and ranged weapons, preferring instead to ride their War-Beetles into close combat, and given the ferocious nature of both beast and rider, this almost guaranteed that a wound inflicted in battle would be fatal. However, a strict sense of honour prevented the Bird-Warriors from leaving their old ways behind, so it was not until many centuries later when the population dwindled to dangerously low levels that pragmatism forced the proud Thalonistrians to adapt.

Bug Rider

For centuries the flightless humanoid-avian creatures of Thalonistri have been taming and riding the giant beetles found on their homeworld. Typically these oversized insects are ridden into battle, and as the technology of warmaking developed, the Thalonistrians would start to attach increasingly more deadly weaponry to the resilient beetles. The Bug Riders would even come to replace the body parts of their mounts with cybernetic upgrades, so that eventually they would become more machine than beetle.
